Process
1. Brief & scope. You send a written brief, reference images, and constraints (size, version, platform). I respond with feasibility, a scope, and a schedule.
2. Blockout. Rough silhouette and massing pass to lock composition and scale before detailing.
3. Detail pass. Palette, materials, ornament, and interiors - with revision points built into the schedule.
4. Delivery. World file, schematics, or Marketplace-ready output depending on the platform. Documentation included where useful.
What you receive
Deliverables scale with the project: for smaller commissions, a schematic and world file are standard. For larger environments, you get a full world save, structured schematics of major pieces, screenshot renders, and - when it's a Bedrock or Marketplace target - a build packaged to Marketplace specifications. Rights and usage terms are agreed up front.
Good fit
These commissions are a fit if you're producing a server showcase, a machinima or trailer, a private world, a portfolio-grade single build, or a piece that will slot into a larger production. For full-map Marketplace releases or NFT World-scale environments, see Marketplace & Professional Projects. For terrain-first work, see Terrain & Worldbuilding.
Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of Minecraft builds do you take on as commissions?
Palaces, castles, cities, temples, character sculpture, organic showcases, and cinematic environments - essentially any structural or environmental build where the scope, references, and platform are clearly defined. Work spans fantasy, classical, baroque, sci-fi, and organic styles.
How much does a custom Minecraft build cost?
Cost depends on scope, size, detail level, timeline, and whether the build is single-structure or full-environment. Small structures start in the low hundreds; palace, city, or full-environment projects scale up substantially. Every quote is written against a clear brief so there are no surprises.
How long does a Minecraft build commission take?
A single detailed structure typically takes 1–3 weeks. Palace or castle-scale work runs 3–6 weeks. City, environment, and Marketplace-scale projects can run months. Every quote includes a delivery estimate tied to milestones.
What do you deliver at the end of a commission?
A world file (or schematic where preferred), production-ready and cleaned up, along with any required documentation. Marketplace, NFT, and studio deliverables are matched to the platform's requirements.
Do you take on interior work?
Yes. Interiors are a major part of my portfolio - palaces, castles, and cities in the portfolio are all built out on the inside as well as the exterior.
Does this portfolio demonstrate everything you have built?
Not even remotely! I have over 200 plots on Athion, ranging from loose ideas to fully finished megabuilds as well as 18 private, unlimited sized worlds on BuildersRefuge, with most worlds containing a multitude of projects. And from there, I have work on BuildersRefuge public plots, The Bakery Builders Server, and too many plot servers, private servers, client servers, and singleplayer worlds to count! Consider this a very small selection of highlights as opposed to all of my best work.
Can I see examples of your commissioned work?
Recent commission-style examples on the portfolio include Helen of Troy and Adventus Mortis. Personal-showcase pieces at the same scale and craft include Palais Lumière, Aurelios, Yuanhua Pagoda, and Loriostrond.
