Project Overview
Heliox Station is a science-fiction environment built around an orbital research facility. It deliberately uses a completely different architectural language than my fantasy work - spheres, domes, modules, cylinders, and mechanical framing - to demonstrate that the same design fundamentals (silhouette, hierarchy, composition) apply across genres.
Sci-Fi Architecture
The station is composed from modular elements. Docking arms, laboratory volumes, and vertical mast structures work together as a single readable silhouette. Color accents are used sparingly to punctuate an otherwise restrained palette, so the mechanical geometry does the visual work.
Alien Terrain
The environment around the station is fully custom alien terrain. Ridges, ravines, and surface texture are shaped to sell the sense of an off-world location without leaning on obvious tropes. Terrain and architecture are composed together so the station reads as belonging to its environment.
Transferable Design Fundamentals
Heliox exists in the portfolio to show transferable skill. If you approach silhouette, world composition, and terrain integration correctly, the same designer can produce elven cities, Baroque palaces, or orbital stations. The genre changes; the underlying discipline doesn't.
Sci-fi world or environment build?
If you're planning a science-fiction environment, hub, or map, I'd be glad to talk.
